Pvt. Charles Peterson, Co. B. buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, New York, in Section 83, Lot 35. Born in Germany. Died at age 80 on June 21, 1893, at Albany, N.Y. Headstone is face-down in June 2015. Possibly buried next to brother? Frederick Peterson – headstone reads John Frederick Peterson, but records of cemetery don’t have the John. Could be his brother in the 18th. If I prove its one and the same, I have visited his grave too.

Pvt. Calvin Brittain Potter, Co. B. buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah, in Section a GAR, Lot 61 ½. Born on July 15, 1837, in Brownville, Jefferson County, N.Y. Committed suicide on August 18, 1902, at Salt Lake City, Ut, at age 65.

Pvt. Peter Van Hoesen (James Sullivan), Co. B. buried in Coeymans Hollow Cemetery, Coeymans Hollow, New York. Born on January 24, 1831, in Bethlehem or Albany, N.Y. Died on May 9, 1918, at age 86.

 

Pvt. Charles Van Steinberg, Co. B. buried in Philadelphia National Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in Section B, Grave 307. Died of disease on November 14, 1862, at Broad Street General Hospital, in Philadelphia, Pa.

 

1st. Lt. Alexander Hamilton Wands, Co. B. originally buried in the Masonic Cemetery, San Francisco, California. Born on February 6, 1840, in New Scotland, N.Y. Died on August 25, 1887, in San Francisco, Cal. The Masonic Cemetery (1864-1901) was located between Turk, Fulton, Parker, and Masonic Streets on what is today the University of San Francisco. The tombstones were used as fill on the approaches to the Golden Gate Bridge. In June of 1901 an unknown number of bodies from the Masonic Cemetery were moved to the Japanese Cemetery in Colma. The rest of the remains from the Masonic Cemetery were moved to Woodlawn Cemetery in Colma.
